From Our Director

As the Lehigh Valley digs out from the winter’s snow and ice, the Pioneer Band has been busy preparing for the 2026 concert season. This season is an extremely special one as our country celebrates American 250. We will have extra Patriotic Concerts on our schedule this year, and to remind our audiences of our nation’s 250th birthday we will feature a patriotic number at each of our concerts regardless of the theme.

 

The patriotic songs the band will feature includes the music of Sousa, Cohan, and music from the American Revolution to the Bicentennial Celebration, and as always, a tribute to the men and women of our armed services. In March we present a program honoring National Women’s month featuring the music of Adele, The Wizard of Oz, and Wicked.

    April is National Jazz Month, and we will do a concert that includes the music of Benny Goodman, Maynard Ferguson, Glen Miller, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Hogie Carmichael, Tommy Dorsey, and more.

 

Our Children’s concert will feature the music of Disney, including Aladdin, Pixar Movies, and selections that feature the music from the Disneyland and Disneyworld Parks. As always, the kids will be invited on stage to both perform with and conduct the band.

    

Closing our season will be our annual Pop’s Concert. This year we will feature the music of Adele, Billy Joel, Tower of Power, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, and others.
